short
So I’m in the US. Now what? (A Desperate Call to Fellow Bloggers)
Since I’m kind of on the clock here, I’ll keep this short. As you may know, I’m in the United States right now assisting my family with some real estate business in Florida, West Palm area. Next week I will take off for New York on wednesday for a couple days of personal vacation and then head back home to Finland. So, if you’re a fellow anime blogger and feel like meeting up, let me know. Here in FL my options are kind of limited as I’m mostly tied to my family but over in NY I have two days I’d rather spend meeting up with my colleagues. I don’t really like to spend a night out alone while I’m abroad.
So if you feel like a couple beers and a talk about annie-may and whatever else, do let me know as soon as possible. I have only limited access to the internet so your best bet is sending me an e-mail or commenting here (preferably the latter).
Original English VN ‘Memo’ Released

Aww…don’t say that Lizzy, I just want to make sure you’re safe.
Thanks to sage for the heads up, an OEL visual novel Memo got released today. I’m no news service but since original English language VNs aren’t an everyday’s happening, I thought it deserves a post. Memo is available for free as a 77MB zipped package, you can find download links on its website. I gave it a quick spin myself and it looks quite nice for a free VN. Tsundere Liz is so damn hot too…verbal abuse, NEED MOAR! The GUI is very smooth and nicely done, as are the scene and character transitions.

Kara no Kyoukai 7

That’s the best he could come up with?! Look like a total emo faggot? Any heterosexual person would have chosen the obvious option:

MOTHERFUCKING EYEPATCH AND PIRATE HAT. Think about it, it’s perfect. Shiki could have gotten one of them hook hands. And he could have gotten his broken leg amputated and replaced with a peg leg. And together they could have shown those Somalians how pirating is done. Man that would have been a badass sequel…
Baka to Test Episode 5 – You Wish The Cake Was A Lie

Damn Silver Link, Baka to Test is pretty much the funniest show I’ve seen ever since Seto no Hanayome. Hell, I’m beginning to think that it deserves to be promoted to God Tier. In this modern world of comedic mediocrity, stuff like this definitely stands out – nowadays it seems that most studios have interpreted that as long as you stuff as many references into a show as possible, it will be comedy gold. Oh well, I guess we can only blame their retarded audience.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Lagann-hen Movie Impressions

I wasn’t expecting anything of Gainax after the first TTGL movie which was little more than a waste of time and hard drive space. Hell, I wasn’t even going to bother with this shit until so people started being so obnoxious about how much it rocks. So I set out to find out whether it’s another proof of the generally shitty taste of the public.

Image Site Rage Act III – Failing, are they? Failing, are they? Well, let ‘em fail!

It’s been a couple months since I last posted my shitlist and I think it’s time to once again take a look at what the winter has brought to us avid consumers of online image sites. Broken English, zoom layers, horrific extraction and one-click texture effects welcome you to the wonderful world of anime-themed wallpapers once more!

Durarara!! 03 – The Alignment of Badassery

Brains Base, I am impress.
Words fail to express how much I love this show. Episode 2 was full of awesomeness and episode three takes a few steps further. Forget about Gurren Lagann, shounen shits and whatnot, this is what badass looks like.

Welcome to the Jinx! – Hey Look, I Can Do Figurine Posts Too
So I was hanging out on IRC and practicing harmonica, totally minding my own business. I just managed to pull off When the Saints Go Marching in for the first time without any blunders, when hikago decided to give me a grand reason for this faggotry that is about to explode all over your screen. Good thing I already got approved by OEG…

Winter 2010 Impressions – Dance in the Vampire Bund

I’m getting mixed feelings of Vampire Bund in both. One thing is certain though – it has easily the most unique start of the shows in this season.

Winter 2010 First Impressions – Ookami Kakushi

Ookami Kakushi is going to fail. Trust me on this. This show fits the same bill as Chaos;HEAd and 11eyes, there’s no denying it. Ookami Kakushi’s biggest selling point is that it’s based on a story by Ryukishi07, famous for Higurashi and Seakats. And so what? Chaos;HEAd was based on a VN by Nitroplus and Umineko was an adaptation of a popular VN. That didn’t stop Madhouse and DEEN from totally screwing everything up with the anime adaptations.
