Back in Business – PSA and Loot
Sup folks, Nova’s back home. Two weeks in the US passed fairly quickly although I found Florida to be rather dull for the most part. It’s indeed a retirement state where everyone’s either rich, old or black. For a poor European backpacker there wasn’t all that much to do, although I managed to find a nice deal on some combat boots and a Smith&Wesson knife at an army store I stumbled upon in West Palm Beach. Most of the time I spent grooming my miko army in Disgaea 2 and going through whatever books I had packed in with me. New York was thankfully a different story. Easy to navigate and so much things to do, it was truly a backpacker’s paradise. New Yorkers look and behave so much like Finns that blending into the crowd was no problem – if it hadn’t been for my coyote brown Camelbak Motherlode that I was hauling around with me wherever I went. I managed to meet up with one IRC acquaintance and thanks to his guidance finding and raiding the local Kinokuniya went smoothly.

PSA – Introducing JTFish
I’ve been reconsidering recruiting another author for Jinx! for some time now and when the opportunity presented itself, I could hardly decline. From now on, a 12 year old taiyaki from Belgium will be contributing to Jinx! as an author. Now, I rarely agree with JT on anything and I’m sure he feels the same way about me. Which is exactly why I decided to recruit him after he was left dead in the water by his host suddenly retiring from the internets. The blog theme has been modified to display the posting author, be sure not to mix us up!

Some PSA Stuff and the Best Anime Ever
Finally back online. I have spent the past week and a half walking in circles waiting on the ISP to activate the internet connection at my new apartment. It’s been a while since I’ve been without the information lifeline for such a long period and it struck me how many hours there are to spend in a day. But anyway, the torture has finally ended and I could return to blogging, among other things. The salvaging of the sorry-excuse-of-a-backup database was apparently successful for the most part and all the old posts have been restored. Categories, tags and comments on the other hand are gone and there seems to be no safe way of getting them back, so I’ll consider it as a price I have to pay for all this mess. In any case Jinx! is back in action, waiting for the next season to start so I can get back into the rhythm.
