Elementary Shoppin – Nova’s Guide To Decent Header Banners
I was quite pleased when my IRC client’s aggregator finally reported a new post on OEG. I was getting worried that the guys had already called it quits. Anyway, the latest OEG round made me uncomfortably aware of how full of fail some blogs are in regards to their visual appearance. Now, as a fellow nerd I do understand that the external appearance might not always be the priority no.1 to a whole lot of you, but some blogs just have so inexcusably bad header images that something has to be done about it. Thus I decided attempt helping my fellow bloggers make their sites look better. Unfortunately I don’t know jack about webdesign, CSS and shit like that (I count on JTFish on that), so my only option was to share the little knowledge I have in making decent-looking header banners.

The Obligatory Single Awareness Day Post – Some Good Ol’ Pointless Ramble

It’s nice to see that Valentine’s still hasn’t been able to establish itself as an anime blogger festivity. I’ve never really gotten into the whole Valentine’s deal, being a sad nerd as I am and considering the fact that Catholic holidays in general aren’t that big out here in Finland (gratz to Gustav I of Sweden, good job back there brah). And what would Valentine’s mean anyway to those of us lurking moar and blasting out psychedelic trance like it was any other day? Besides I don’t even like chocolate. Haters gonna hate, hell yeah.

Baka to Test Episode 5 – You Wish The Cake Was A Lie

Damn Silver Link, Baka to Test is pretty much the funniest show I’ve seen ever since Seto no Hanayome. Hell, I’m beginning to think that it deserves to be promoted to God Tier. In this modern world of comedic mediocrity, stuff like this definitely stands out – nowadays it seems that most studios have interpreted that as long as you stuff as many references into a show as possible, it will be comedy gold. Oh well, I guess we can only blame their retarded audience.

Thoughts on the Anime Blogosphere and the ‘Otaku’ Elimination Game

War ain’t what it used to be.
Yeah yeah, I was gonna post about Durarara!! but that’ll be up for later. Right now I’m interested in something that was posted in the comments section of a post on the ‘Otaku’ Elimination Game. I’ve had a lot of thoughts surrounding it ever since it began but I’ve been holding myself from expressing them too much. Now I think it’s about time to let it loose.

Look Ma I’m Copying Off 4chan – Every ‘Otaku’ Elimination Game Post Comment Section Ever

I’ll just leave this here, since Baka-Raptor loves all this copied memetic trash.
Twelve Moments Post 8 – Death and Rebirth
Time for the last significant anime-related memory of mine from summer 2009. Hell, Christmas is sure drawing close. Back in the day I could hardly wait for it, counting down the days like hits on my target in the Army marksmanship exams. And all this is making me realize how old I am now, because Christmas is just another season of what could be holiday but I end up spending most of it working like a mofo. The presents are nowadays more like a bunch of joke items we give to each other to look smart and funny. Shit, so cynical already. REMEMBER WHEN CHRISTMAS WAS GOOD?
Twelve Moments Post 5 – Needs Moar Desu
Herp derp, here we go with the fifth post on Twelve Moments. I apologize for the delay – I was rather busy moving my stuff over to my family’s house for Christmas. School’s out as you know, and it’s time to work! Hell yeah! Now I can start paying off the credit card debt from the Singapore trip. Life is fabulous! HAHAHA HAHA HA haha haa…

Twelve Moments Posts 1 & 2 – Fine, I’ll Do It
Holy crap, Nova is pushing out two posts in a night! Look at what an upcoming logistics exam can do to a man! He gains so much energy to do every other thing than studying itself. Hell, I think I might arrange my science fiction books next and then do some cleaning. But first let’s get this show on the road. I rarely end up browsing AnimeNano but circumstances being what they are, it was hardly a surprise I was doing just that tonight. And after noting a curious trend in recent posts up there, I remembered CCY’s 12 Days To Christmas-thing from last year. Now back then I thought it was a retarded idea but once again, circumstances being what they are…

The ‘Otaku’ Elimination Game Unofficial Drinking Game

In Soviet Russia, the blogs eliminate you!
Just recently someone posted a comment on my Akikan! drinking game, suggesting that I should make more of those. And I thought why not, so I set out to find a suitable topic while taking a break from gaming to have some Perfect Dinner. However none of the current anime running were interesting enough to bother making a drinking game of. So instead I decided to feature the much loved and hated ‘Otaku’ Elimination Game. I really had to keep myself from coming up with too many rules – the OEG posts have a bit too much potential and I don’t really want to have pissed off readers suing me for them waking up in Timbuktu wearing a school swimsuit and missing one kidney. Like with the Akikan! game, I leave it up to you to decide what kind of drinks you want to use. Conveniently OEG has the habit of publishing their elimination posts on fridays. This game is designed mainly to work with those posts – the weekly Rounds. You can try to use it with the miscellaneous posts as well but that requires some fine-tuning of the rules. In any case, grab a bottle and let it rip!

A Little Blogging Style Analysis

Another post sponsored by…
Oh look, Nova’s attempting to write a deep and analytic post! This all spawned by a late night discussion with hikago, on different blogging styles, which made me realize that it might actually be interesting enough to compose into a post.
