beer
So I’m in the US. Now what? (A Desperate Call to Fellow Bloggers)
Since I’m kind of on the clock here, I’ll keep this short. As you may know, I’m in the United States right now assisting my family with some real estate business in Florida, West Palm area. Next week I will take off for New York on wednesday for a couple days of personal vacation and then head back home to Finland. So, if you’re a fellow anime blogger and feel like meeting up, let me know. Here in FL my options are kind of limited as I’m mostly tied to my family but over in NY I have two days I’d rather spend meeting up with my colleagues. I don’t really like to spend a night out alone while I’m abroad.
So if you feel like a couple beers and a talk about annie-may and whatever else, do let me know as soon as possible. I have only limited access to the internet so your best bet is sending me an e-mail or commenting here (preferably the latter).
Elementary Shoppin – Nova’s Guide To Decent Header Banners
I was quite pleased when my IRC client’s aggregator finally reported a new post on OEG. I was getting worried that the guys had already called it quits. Anyway, the latest OEG round made me uncomfortably aware of how full of fail some blogs are in regards to their visual appearance. Now, as a fellow nerd I do understand that the external appearance might not always be the priority no.1 to a whole lot of you, but some blogs just have so inexcusably bad header images that something has to be done about it. Thus I decided attempt helping my fellow bloggers make their sites look better. Unfortunately I don’t know jack about webdesign, CSS and shit like that (I count on JTFish on that), so my only option was to share the little knowledge I have in making decent-looking header banners.

The Obligatory Single Awareness Day Post – Some Good Ol’ Pointless Ramble

It’s nice to see that Valentine’s still hasn’t been able to establish itself as an anime blogger festivity. I’ve never really gotten into the whole Valentine’s deal, being a sad nerd as I am and considering the fact that Catholic holidays in general aren’t that big out here in Finland (gratz to Gustav I of Sweden, good job back there brah). And what would Valentine’s mean anyway to those of us lurking moar and blasting out psychedelic trance like it was any other day? Besides I don’t even like chocolate. Haters gonna hate, hell yeah.

Winter 2010 Mid-Season Check – Idiots, Tests and Bursting Nutbladders

HNNNNNNNGG-
As the season has reached its midpoint, I suppose it’s time to have a look at how the shows have been doing so far. This season has provided us with a few positive surprises and at least in comparison to what it was last year I can’t say it has been all that bad. Anyway, on with the current power levels…

Welcome to the Jinx! – Hey Look, I Can Do Figurine Posts Too
So I was hanging out on IRC and practicing harmonica, totally minding my own business. I just managed to pull off When the Saints Go Marching in for the first time without any blunders, when hikago decided to give me a grand reason for this faggotry that is about to explode all over your screen. Good thing I already got approved by OEG…

Fall 2009 Ending Grades – A Certain Scientific Railgun

Mikoto is too cool for this series.
Since not too many shows survived on my fall 2009 watchlist, I might as well dedicate a post to each of those that did. First up is of course JC Staff’s Railgun.

Twelve Moments Post 9 – The Music Palette
Oh man, 22nd already. I must admit that I had almost forgotten about this particular memory that I am about to discuss. However, thanks to my PSP suddenly stopping being an asstard with its shitty shuffle algorithm at work today, I remembered.

Twelve Moments Post 4 – When They Cried
Exams are completed and the Unlimited Harvesting Works has finally been dealt with. Wood procurement matrices and other shit like that are the past now…at least until I retake the tests. Anyway, my second to the last semester has concluded and now it’s pretty much the Final Thesis that still stands in my way to unemployment. Hell yeah. Now on to today’s topic at hand. We’re already 1/3 through the Twelve Days to Christmas thingy, so this will be the last memory of mine from last spring and next we’ll move up to the summer 2009.

Twelve Moments Post 3 – The Sins of Our Fathers
It seems that I am facing an exam of an epic difficulty tomorrow. Great, that means that it’s time to spend the evening posting. Today Jinx! features sad men in the snow. Ready your boxcutters, folks.

Twelve Moments Posts 1 & 2 – Fine, I’ll Do It
Holy crap, Nova is pushing out two posts in a night! Look at what an upcoming logistics exam can do to a man! He gains so much energy to do every other thing than studying itself. Hell, I think I might arrange my science fiction books next and then do some cleaning. But first let’s get this show on the road. I rarely end up browsing AnimeNano but circumstances being what they are, it was hardly a surprise I was doing just that tonight. And after noting a curious trend in recent posts up there, I remembered CCY’s 12 Days To Christmas-thing from last year. Now back then I thought it was a retarded idea but once again, circumstances being what they are…
