Herp derp, here we go with the fifth post on Twelve Moments. I apologize for the delay – I was rather busy moving my stuff over to my family’s house for Christmas. School’s out as you know, and it’s time to work! Hell yeah! Now I can start paying off the credit card debt from the Singapore trip. Life is fabulous! HAHAHA HAHA HA haha haa…
Twelve Moments #5 – Desucon

My first anime convention experience. Desucon was held in Lahti, Finland and according to many was the best con evar around these corners. I can’t really say anything regarding that, but I had fun most of the time. The panels were quite well executed – on point, not way too long, entertaining and even informative sometimes. The main guest of honor Furuya Tohru was more like a rock star than a seiyuu and definitely the highlight of the convention. Overall the convention felt well organized and everything seemed to stay in schedule. The dealer’s room had some interesting booths but there was a disappointing lack of anime DVDs – though considering that Finland has next to no credible anime distribution, this was hardly a surprise. Attending the anime blogging panel was a memorable experience… I got there about 20 minutes late and when I marched in, I saw Jinx! up there on the screen. That was the first time it sort of hit me that hell, blogging has actually gotten me somewhere. Not that it is paying my bills or anything but seeing my site up there, being discussed by the panelists, did give me some strange and fuzzy feeling. Back when I started Jinx! as a personal rant blog mainly as an effort to sharpen my English skills, something like this never would’ve crossed my mind.

Hey Hakuro, this is how you do it.
Of course, when I found myself in Singapore actually talking face to face with people I had been hanging out with on IRC for the past few years, this feeling was a whole magnitude stronger. But that’s another story…
WHERE IS MY SUISESEKI!?
