Railgun is Finally Getting Better

Author: NovaJinx

I was really hoping for Railgun 4 to be another fillertastic piece of lesbian fanservice so I could flame it six ways to India but damn JC Staff put one over on me. The fourth episode is rather filler-ish as well but I can already recognize events from the manga kicking in and the Level Upper-arc finally getting started (although as Shance pointed out, technically it already began in the very first episode).

But what’s even better is that Mikoto is finally back to the fierce super-tsundere mode in which we all like her the best. I was rather disappointed with how watered-down her personality seemed in the first three episodes, not to mention that the show seemed to focus more on Kuroko than its actual lead character. I signed up for this shit because it says Railgun, not Teleporter. But oh well, that seems to be past now as the fourth episode follows Mikoto’s antics when she runs across Touma, a familiar face from Index. Now as you remember (and FYI if you didn’t) Touma’s right hand possesses the power to nullify any magical or esper ability which makes him largely immune to Mikoto’s raging attacks. And knowing Mikoto’s temperament and competitive personality, this pisses her off more than anything.

Time for a duel! I must question Mikoto’s sanity here though because she’s obviously trying her best to kill him.

Meanwhile elsewhere…

Unfortunately episode 5 was a lot weaker than 4. Though mostly due to the fact that Mikoto hardly even appeared in it. It’s still kind of funny that Touma got on my nerves in Index but Railgun gets fuckawesome when Touma appears.

Strangely, Touma was awesome prior to memory-wipe incident. Still, he did some pretty cool shit after memory wipe.
