In Space Nobody Can Hear You Blog (Pointless Hiatus Entry)
Author: nova
I must apologize for the recent silence. I didn’t blog RideBack like I promised, because suddenly all my media players became unable to play .mp4-format in which the show is released. By the time I got it fixed I had already lost the momentum and didn’t feel like trying to catch up. So there, I’ll be taking a break from episodic posting.
Another reason for the lack of posts is that my poor soul has recently been largely consumed by X3 Terran Conflict. So I’ve spent all my spare time roaming around star systems looking for best trade runs like a crazed housewife at an after-christmas sale. Seeing that after 25 hours of playing I’m barely getting started, this probably isn’t going to change any time soon.
So is it good bye for Jinx!? Fear not, for I have paid the three first years of domain registration in advance and quitting before it expires hardly is an option. In fact I have been planning to upgrade for a better hosting plan or even a dedicated server this summer if and when I get a job. If the global financial crisis doesn’t ruin my chances of getting employed that is.
To make this post somewhat relevant to anime and thus eliminating the chance of Hung getting annoyed for pointless offtopic entries ending up on AnimeNano let me bitch a bit about Chrome Shelled Regios. I mean what the hell is this, Ender’s Game for illiterates? So this Layfon is a guy with super powarz who doesn’t want to use them for fighting but ends up using them anyway to PROTECT MA FRIENDS. Hot stuff huh? It’s always about “I dun want to fight” but in the end the protagonist does just that. When he sees some incompetent platoon leader screw up because she’s simply unfitting for her position, he just has to throw all that resolve out of the window and kick some ass. When oh when comes the day when I get to see the protagonist do the same kind of decision as in Jean-Christophe Rufin’s novel Globalia – in the end when facing the full power of his opponent the protagonist thinks “this shit ain’t my business“, grabs his bitch and takes off to lead a happy, peaceful life. I think that’s a lesson to us all.
Also, in case you haven’t seen this video yet I recommend you check it out – the top 25 most sold anime of all time. While Code Geass R2 being the second best anime of all time on ANN Top10 may be a strong demonstration of the lack of taste within the international anime fandom, its preceding season being no less than 6th sold assures that the Japs aren’t much of an exception. There’s no NAY-ROO-TOE on the list though (or even Bleach for that matter) so I guess there still is reason for hope.
In addition, my bandwidth has been greatly leeched lately and I was very close to running out this month mainly thanks to a certain stumbleupon-user directing traffic to an old post of mine. As such I saw no option but to lock the post for now until I can contact the user in question and ask him to close the link. Please do not add me on sites such as stumbleupon, the views they give are worthless and only serve to consume resources.
