Chaos;HEAd Episode 11 Quick Post – I Accidentally The Episode Overview

Author: nova

What is my excuse for being late with the post again? Because 11th episode of Chaos;HEAd has sealed the show as a dissappointment and as such I have been wasting my time and effort by watching and blogging it. So this time I won’t be writing much about it as I can surely think of a whole bunch of better things to do. Essentially Chaos;HEAd is like the food they serve at garrison hospitals in the Finnish Defence Forces – looks good, smells good, but has no taste whatsoever. It’s like a steak without meat, a car without wheels, like a porn movie with a single strip scene and then camera facing a plain wall for the rest of the time. Okay, maybe I overdid with the analogies, so allow me to just sum it up with the following picture:

But I don’t feel like giving up now that I’ve come this far, so let me give you a quick overview on what happened in the episode. This is essentially where the shit starts going down and questions are answered. However, thanks to Madhouse doing a lame job at it the episode hardly feels this epic. We start off from where episode 10 left us, Takumi encountering Shogun dowtown during the Third Melt initialization. We learn that Shogun is the real Takumi and our protagonist is merely an illusion created by him – and not just Takumi, but apparently the entire Ir2 equation is a product of Shogun. Shogun helped Rimi in the past and in exchange Rimi wants to prevent him from disappearing which will eventually happen if Takumi awakens. During the conversation with Shogun Takumi finally snaps out of the depression over being just an illusion, realizes that he loves Rimi and decides to solve everything for his own good – destroy the Noah II and save Rimi who is being held captive by Norose. This thought brings forth his Di-Sword, allowing him to finally awaken. Shogun advises him to take down any Porters in the area, teaching him to use his new powers as a Gigalomaniax. One of these Porters happen to be the evil nurse Grim and as Takumi reads her mind we find out that she has been the culprit behind the New Gene cases. After telling him that the entire reason behind the New Gene murders was to awaken Takumi, the nurse utters “Let there be salvation by faith” and stabs herself in the neck, triggering the Third Melt to hit at full strength.

The following quake ravages the town at 7.8 magnitude on Richter scale, shattering buildings and pavement and causing a high death toll. Within the confusion Ayase and Yua make their way through the town, meeting up with Nanami who seems to have escaped from NOZOMI, and suddenly the ground beneath the three collapses. Meanwhile Takumi wakes up and finds Shogun knocked out cold on the pavement. Soon he encounters Ayase and co. trapped under some rubble and helps them out with his newfound powers. He also introduces Shogun to Nanami, telling her that he’s her real brother. A flashback sequence shows Shogun being visited by Nanami at the hospital, where Shogun uses his powers to make her forget about him in an attempt to keep himself hidden. Nanami gets her memory back but seems to recognize both Shogun and Takumi has her brothers, and Yua apologizes for being nasty to Takumi. The crew decides to put an end on NOZOMI’s evil intentions.

We skip over to some subway tunnel to see how Sena and Kozue are doing, whatever the reason for them is to be in a subway tunnel after a magnitude 7.8 earthquake. Sena meets her hobo father and has a confrontation with him, but doesn’t get a chance to impale him as he is shot in the back by Suwa wearing a Porter pack. Suwa puts his share of Noah II’s powers into good use and uses evil delusions to make Sena and Kozue helpless, but Takumi appears for the rescue. Suwa attempts to take him down using his Porter pack but Takumi prevails and Suwa’s illusionary attack bounces back to him. Looks like Kozue has regained her ability to speak normally and Sena is going emo over her father’s corpse, realizing that he protected her from Suwa with his life. Takumi keeps moving on, telling the two that he will destroy Noah II for his own reasons. Badass man, you sure have learned how to make girls cry.

There you have it, I have nothing further to say. I will summarize the show next weekend if I get a chance, but at the time I will be enjoying the inter-semester period by hanging around on the beaches of Tenerife. If the hotel I’m staying at has an internet access it will be business as usual but otherwise expect a week-long delay in both Chaos;HEAd end summary and the Fall 2008 season summary. Merry christmas to everyone.
