As you surely have noticed, the appearance of the blog has changed a bit. I got bored of the default WordPress theme and finally decided to get rid of it because I had too much time due to skipping school. Big thanks to Nicd for helping me out with the CSS.
Because I’ve been too lazy to properly center all pics in the posts that would appear to be centered anyway due to being as wide as the text column, you will probably find a lot of misplaced pics in the posts because of the bigger column width in this new theme. I will be fixing these when I have the time and energy to.
Since I’m already in the process of writing, why not a word or two about the next season of anime that’s starting this week. The Big Two of the now ending season, Code Geass R2 (yeah I promised not to write about it, so I’ll keep it brief) and Macross Frontier, clearly dominated the field this time over. Whether or not you like CG R2, it was definitely the most blogged, subbed and discussed show of the past summer and although being rather weak in comparison to the first season, I’d say it managed to end at least somewhat satisfyingly. Macross Frontier was a great ride of some quality mecha/military/science fiction-action with a touch of angst romance and as a more or less newfag in the anime scene I found it positive that previous experience with Macross universe wasn’t required for full enjoyment.

Her name is Death, the destroyer of worlds.
Aside from these two I didn’t really have anything on my list, mainly due to the time-consuming work that I had most of the summer. Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu didn’t prove to be all that interesting, I guess I’m somewhat tired of all the otaku-comedy shows that have been swarming the screens lately. Hidamari Sketch x365 was just as awesome as I had expected, but much to my RAEG it was stalled to 8th episode and lord knows when we get to see the rest. There’s a conspiracy against great SHAFT shows, I swear!
I have not yet become very much acquainted with the upcoming season, but from the looks of it on Fansubwiki I have the feeling that we’re in for an interesting ride. My personal highlights for Fall 2008 include Kannagi, Gundam 00 2nd Season, ef -a tale of melodies-, CHAOS;HEAD and Clannad ~AFTER STORY~. The promo video of Kurogane no Linebarrel seemed interesting, but with Gonzo at the wheel there’s little telling what the outcome will be, aside from expectedly impressive first few episodes.
This post was originally supposed to be something about ef -a tale of memories- but unfortunately I didn’t really come up with anything worth writing about while rewatching the show, at least for the time being. Have a bit of Miyako instead.
