Thanks to the Author for the heads up, apparently a bunch of anime blogs under the flag of Kokidokom have been suspended by their hosting service Bluehost. No idea what the reason might be as there’s no kind of message apart from the one above, but I sure would like to find out. I sure hope they are restored soon but who knows? Oh well, Animeblogger.net and Dasaku are still going although the former definitely isn’t doing as good as it used to, just like the Author hinted. As for the latter…well, it’s hard to take then seriously when they’re hosting a booru mostly filled with (lol) Code Geass. Boy am I glad having decided to get my own paid hosting right from the beginning. UPDATE: Check the first comment for more info. ANOTHER UPDATE: Kokidokom is back in action. Nothing to see here anymore, folks.

Now that the first Tutu post is over and done with, I suppose it’s about time to take the first look at the next season. Admittedly this Summer season was rather weak in comparison to last year, or at least lacked decent shows within my sphere of interest. I’ve heard positive things about Shiki and Occult Academy but I have little interest in the supernatural/horror genre. Anyway the summer is pretty much over, the weather has turned cold, dark and rainy, and having concluded my work contract at the packaging plant, I’m once more unemployed and ready for some heavier stuff. So, let’s see what’s coming up this Fall.

Over the course of some semi-drunken discussion at the Finnish anime blogger meeting the issue of slice of life came up. Basically it ended up with two questions: What exactly can be classified as slice of life? and, Is slice of life simply used as a way to cut corners and ignore the need for a strong, coherent plot?. Tried as we did, none of us could really pin the whole thing down. This kept bugging me and in the end I decided to try sorting things out for myself by writing about it.

The season’s around halfway there now so it’s time for this again, kids. For once I am inclined to think that this season has been somewhat sub-par, though most likely that is simply because this season lacks enough shows that really spark my interest. Sure I’ve been able to follow through a whole bunch but so far I have only found HOTD and Amagami to be something to look forward to every week.

Basically what’s happening is that US and Japanese manga publishers have gattai‘d and forced an online scanlation site Onemanga off the face of the internet. Needless to say this ignited a massive shitstorm that quickly spread throughout the lowest scum of online anime/manga fandom.
